Educational Program

Power Hour

PowerHour: Making Minutes Count helps Club members ages 6-18 achieve academic success by providing homework help, tutoring, and high-yield learning activities and encouraging members to become self-directed learners. For one hour each day, Monday through Thursday, BGCMCC Clubhouses stop everything to provide dedicated time for homework completion.

Summer Brain Gain

Summer Brain Gain (SBG) is a hands-on, minds-on, project-based program designed for summer in the Club. It’s comprised of week-long modules consisting of fun, themed activities for elementary, middle, and high school students. Activities encourage youth to fall in love with learning by engaging them in unique educational experiences that spark curiosity, allow them to explore their interests, and create opportunities.

Money Matter

Clubs have used Money Matters to promote financial responsibility and independence among Club members ages 13-18 by building their basic money management skills. Participants learn how to set goals, budget, save and invest. In addition to the Targeted Program, Reality Store provides teens a chance to practice their financial decision-making skills at a fun and engaging event. Digital tools and games promote fiscal responsibility by showing players how every financial decision they make impacts their future.

CareerLaunch

CareerLaunch is BGCA’s job-readiness and career preparation program for teens. It provides fun and interactive activities for youth ages 13 to 18 to explore a broad range of career areas, match their interest to career clusters and identify the skills and education needed for their particular career path. CareerLaunch is designed to support youth in preparing for their first job, internships, summer employment and so much more!
