Teen Program

Money Matters

Clubs have used Money Matters to promote financial responsibility and independence among Club members ages 13-18 by building their basic money management skills. Participants learn how to set goals, budget, save and invest. In addition to the Targeted Program, Reality Store provides teens a chance to practice their financial decision-making skills at a fun and engaging event. Digital tools and games promote fiscal responsibility by showing players how every financial decision they make impacts their future.

CareerLaunch

CareerLaunch is BGCA’s job-readiness and career preparation program for teens. It provides fun and interactive activities for youth ages 13 to 18 to explore a broad range of career areas, match their interest to career clusters and identify the skills and education needed for their particular career path. CareerLaunch is designed to support youth in preparing for their first job, internships, summer employment and so much more!

Stollmeyer STEAM Challenge

The Boys & Girls Club of Mid Central Coast with the generous support from the Stollmeyer STEAM Grant has created a unique and interactive Project Based Learning program for teens in grades 7th-12th to engage and explore the various STEAM disciplines.  The 6 workshop series will be offered seasonally 4 times per year at our traditional Teen sites, Railroad and Flamson Clubs. The series consists of workshops in the following disciplines, Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math and (STEAM) Career Exploration. Program participants who complete a 6 Workshop series are eligible to apply for a $1,000 college/trade school scholarship offered annually. 

Keystone Club

Keystone promote character and leadership qualities among Club teens. Keystone provides awareness and impact in the areas of community service, academic success, career preparation and teen outreach, the four focus areas of Keystoning. The cultivation of good character and effective leadership supports the development of productive, responsible and caring citizens. It also fosters lifelong civic engagement, high school graduation, and broader employment opportunities for our nation’s teens. Keystone is for members Boys & Girls Club members ages 14-to-18.

Youth of the Year

Youth of the Year is Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s premiere youth leadership program, honoring extraordinary young people and their achievements in leadership, service, academics excellence and dedication to living a healthy lifestyle. The National Youth of the Year title is the most prestigious honor bestowed upon a young person, representing the voice of 4.7 million Boys & Girls Club youth.

Torch Club

Torch Club is a club within the Club that focuses on youth leadership and service. Each Torch Club has between 6-15 members of youth ages 10-13 who participate in service experiences and projects developed and implemented by Torch Club members themselves. The overarching purpose of Torch Club is to foster in youth the ability, confidence and motivation they need in order to lead meaningful change in themselves, with others, and in their communities. Through the youth led, small-group club structure, members gain first-hand experience in leadership and service as they work together toward a shared goal.
