A lease was signed with the City of Guadalupe to open and operate a new Boys & Girls Clubs Clubhouse out of the recently renovated LeRoy Park Community Center in the heart of the town. The Ron Estabillo Clubhouse is set to start serving youth in mid January and will be a third club site to complement the services already being offered at the Mary Buren Elementary School Club and the McKenzie Intermediate School Club. The new Clubhouse will be led by Daisy Perez–a 17 year employee of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Mid Central Coast and will be part of the Guadalupe Area which is under the leadership of Area Director, Carmen Mendoza. Named for Ron Estabillo–highly regarded and hard working Guadalupe resident–he was also a long-serving volunteer for the Boys & Girls Club, especially committed to ensuring our “Back A Youth” nights were fun and successful.
The new Clubhouse will serve youth ages 6 – 18 afterschool and during out of school times throughout the year. It features a beautiful new Gym for basketball and other gym sports, a stage for performing arts activities, kitchen, a library/STEM lab, and a large multi-purpose area. Additionally, Club Members can enjoy the beautiful park grounds that include walking paths, a play structure and a large outdoor field. Club Members will benefit from all the great programs offered by Boys & Girls Clubs like the signature Power Hour Homework program, STEAM programming, the National Fine Arts Program and league sports as well as a host of other multi-disciplinary programs and activities.
