On Tuesday, November 28th, the Shandon Site had a blast celebrating Thanksgiving. Ms. Carina started the day off by asking a few questions about the true meaning of this holiday. Members, as well as staff, shared who and what they’re most thankful for and mentioned ways to spread kindness as well as gratitude. They also mentioned their favorite item from the traditional Thanksgiving platter, and a few were stuffing, pumpkin pie, and Hawaiian rolls with butter. After allowing everyone to share, it was time to eat! Mashed potatoes with gravy, Hawaiian rolls, roasted chicken, and sweet corn with carrots were given for food, and to drink, cranberry and mango juice were offered. We then took the kids outside where they released their energy playing a few rounds of dodgeball. And finally, to top off our day, we enjoyed pumpkin as well as apple pie, with whipped cream topping!
