With an Olympics theme, 50 Club Members from the Guadalupe community got to celebrate being a Boys & Girls Club Member with local community leaders at our annual Back A Youth Night! Over 50 Club kids got paired up with a local adult to show them what it’s like to spend a day at the Club. They enjoyed a hot dog dinner provided by the Kiwanis Club of Guadalupe along with an evening of fun activities like bumper pool in the games room, making their own shrinky-dink key chain and building towers out of paper.
The night is meant to help a local child connect with a caring adult and show off all they learn and do as part of their Club experience. Adult participants get to have fun and be a kid again while also re-connecting with our organization and realizing how their support makes a difference in the lives of real kids.
Special thanks to the Santa Barbara Foundation and the Santa Maria Breakfast Rotary for being the event sponsors and for Kiwanis of Guadalupe for being the meal sponsors.
The next Back A Youth Night will be at the Railroad Clubhouse in Santa Maria on September 26th. Click here to become a mentor for the night.
