To kick off the new year, our Keystone Club hosted a College Night where mostly college freshmen came to speak with high schoolers about their experience in college so far. In partnership with Jeanette Blanco, our former Keystone advisor, we had in attendance five college students from Brown University, San Diego State, UC Berkeley, and Cal State Long Beach.
Most of these college students are previous Keystone members so it was really great for our current members to meet and talk to them about college. Our teens had an opportunity to meet with each college student in groups and asked questions ranging from dealing with home sickness, first time jobs, roommates, transportation, accountability for their studies, and much more. Every high schooler that attended mentioned that it was a really great opportunity to be able to speak with the college students, especially our current high school seniors.
