Middle School Cooking Class: French Toast Delight!

At the Flamson Club in our middle school cooking class (ages 12-14), we had a blast making delicious French Toast with a twist! We used fresh, artisan sliced bread from the local farmers market, giving our dish that extra touch of flavor and authenticity.

The Members worked in teams at various stations to make sure everything ran smoothly:

  • 2 people whisking eggs
  • 2 people mixing the egg soak (eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and cinnamon)
  • 2 people slicing fresh strawberries for toppings
  • 2 people soaking the bread in the egg mixture
  • 2 people cooking the French toast
  • 1 person preparing scrambled eggs

We were so impressed with how the Members improved on their teamwork! This week, they did an excellent job keeping their workstations clean and sticking to their roles.

For toppings, we had an assortment of delicious options: maple syrup, whipped cream, strawberries, chocolate syrup, and caramel syrup. Of course, we also served a side of scrambled eggs for an extra savory bite.

A fan favorite? The French toast topped with whipped cream and strawberries, of course!

We’re so proud of the Members for their hard work and creativity in the kitchen. We can’t wait to see what they cook up next time!
