The Stollmeyer STEAM Challenge is in its second year of funding programs for teens at our Clubs to prepare them for college and career. Through participation in a series of workshops and activities focusing on all of the STEAM(Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) attributes, teens have a chance to receive a $1000 scholarship. Thanks to the generosity of Rick Stollmeyer and his generous contribution to Boys & Girls Clubs of Mid Central Coast, eight highschoolers were recently awarded $1000 in scholarship monies while two middle schoolers earned $500 in scholarship awards. Teens from Santa Maria and Paso Robles participated in the STEAM Challenge throughout the year.
A fun ceremony with pizza, ice cream and, of course, one STEAM activity took place in Santa Maria at our Railroad Clubhouse where the teens recieved their scholarship checks.
