The Club @ Laguna started its month off with a tortilla extravaganza where they made both flour, corn tortillas, quesadillas and esquite. Club Director, Grace Lemos, brought all of the ingredients to do some traditional tortilla making in their make-shift kitchen space. Club Members really appreciated the activity and were very enthusiastic.
The greatest appreciation came at the end of the day. One of the dads came in to thank Grace and was so happy that his daughter is coming to the Club. His wife passed away and he is a single dad of four kids. He mentioned that he really struggles making meals for them so having this cooking program after school made him really happy. He also asked Grace for some recipes.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Mid Central Coast is here for the entire family so that Club Members–and their parents–feel fully supported after school and at home.
