Dan Chernow, the driving force behind the Learning Loft and Homework Help Volunteer Program at the Ron Estabillo Club in Guadalupe, was recently honored with the SESLOC Cares volunteer award. As part of this community honor, SESLOC creates a lovely video about the volunteer and broadcasts it on local television. This, both, highlights the outstanding work of Dan, as a volunteer, but informs the public about ways they can get involved to help local kids.
In addition to the video honor, Dan was recognized with a plaque at the Estabillo Clubhouse–surrounded by the kids and staff that so appreciate all he does for our kids. Many of the volunteers he recruits and coordinates for their help with afterschool programs were on hand to celebrate him as well.
