The Guadalupe Dunes Center came out to visit Evans Park to teach the kids about bioluminescence and the science behind that phenomenon.
The experts from the Dunes Center talked about sea creatures that glow and how that happens biologically. At the end of the lesson, the kids got to make a fun jellyfish craft and the Guadalupe Dunes Center team even brought over some whale bones to show the kids.
This Club visit was part of the STEM initiatives that the organization provides for kids to learn about science, technology, engineering and mathematics. It was a great way to be connected to the local community, while learning about the ocean, in which many of our kids get to visit being so close to the beach.
