Glowing Memories and Radiant Hearts

Neon week 7 was Shandon’s last week open during Summer Camp. During art, Members made element jars, super suits with oil pastels, painted a rainbow, chameleon, and alebrije using glow in the dark paint, and created glowing core BGC memories using clear ornaments. For origami they made an ice cream cone, horse, hummingbird, Baymax, and a neon butterfly. STEM activities consisted of using robotics kits and tie dying shirts. Aguas frescas were made during cooking class and TK/K sensory bins had ice cream Oobleck, rainbow foam dough, and neon chia seeds. The favorite team building activities for this week were called carry it through and spray race.

We threw an end of summer party on Friday, July 24th during lunch time where Members enjoyed a tasty sandwich accompanied by a slice of watermelon, bag of chips, gummies, and Capri sun. Members ate while listening to their favorite jams. Ms. Carina read the Staff shout-out wall out loud and recognized each Member for attending our Summer Camp. During snack, June & July Birthdays were celebrated, and ice cream sandwiches were enjoyed. We cannot wait to see what this next school year has in store for our club!
