Creston Club Hops into Spring Programs

At the Creston Club, Staff are introducing their new programs to their Members.  For starters, we have Mr. Will running his Ultimate Journey program with some of the Members.  This program is about taking care of and appreciating the natural environment.  Members were so eager to write down their pledge and decorate the poster with plants and animals.  So far Members have discussed birds they’ve seen,  have taken part in discovering several birds with each other, and have identified common birds by their pictures to then talk about where they have seen them.  There was also a bird game where they tried gathering “food” as “birds” each with their own type of beaks.  They will soon be discussing the national park system and the nature they have experienced.  The kids have been enjoying the hands-on activities in this program and they are each contributing in their own way.

Next we have Ms. Jordan leading her Members in the Performing Arts, Theater One program.  This program is about helping Members branch out of their comfort zones while learning how to respect one another’s artistic expressions and most importantly, having fun.  The Members have so far been participating in creating their own scenes without using words or sounds, which is called pantomiming.  Some Members who weren’t originally part of the program saw what their fellow Members were doing and just jumped in because they thought it looked fun.  Members have been having a blast being their silly selves with their friends.  They will continue these fun and expressive activities throughout the rest of the program and are excited to see what’s to come.

In partnership with must! charities, programs and services at the Creston Club are made possible.
