Golfers Swing Their Support at Ag For Youth Golf Tournament

Boys & Girls Clubs of Mid Central Coast raised more than $100,000 at its 27th Annual Ag For Youth Golf Tournament fundraiser, in support of thousands of local youth.

The tournament was held at the Santa Maria County Club in the afternoon on Friday, July 31. The annual event brought out 128 golfers in support of the organization, for a day of on-course games, amazing food and a chance to make some memories all for a good cause. The title sponsors of the event were Boys & Girls Clubs of the Central Coast Foundation and Driscoll’s, in which the foursomes from each entity scored well during the friendly competition.

Following the tournament was a reception for all of the golfers and their families, and Boys & Girls Clubs of Mid Central Coast CEO Maria Fabula offered some remarks about the legacy of the tournament and the future of the organization as it continues to celebrate 60 years helping families on the Central Coast. Some lucky golfers took home prizes, from cash to coolers to gift certificates, at the end of the night.

Another major highlight included announcing the winner of the Pebble Beach raffle, which gave a grand prize of a trip to Pebble Beach with a chance to play at three different courses in the area and two rooms for two nights at one of the luxurious properties nearby. Longtime Boys & Girls Clubs of Mid Central Coast supporter and former Board Member Linda Cordero was the big winner of the prize, in which she stated she was overwhelmed about the news.

All funds raised at the tournament will go back into supporting families on the Central Coast with after-school care for more than 5,000 young people.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Mid Central Coast will host another golf tournament at Hunter Ranch Golf Course in Paso Robles on Friday, October 2. For more information on how to register or sponsor this event, please contact Kelly Brickey, Events Manager, at kelly.brickey@centralcoastkids.org.
