Shandon BGC Club members have had a November full of color, gobbling laughter, and fun! Trips have been taken to the community park and library where Mrs. Joey had a Fall themed scavenger hunt, water painting, a lego station, and many more activities that kept our Members entertained.
On Veteran’s day, our Club was open from 7:30am-5:30pm. Staff prepared activities where Members were led through origami by Ms. Czarina, painted fall-themed trees and completed an outdoors autumn scavenger hunt with Mrs. Angela, worked in pairs to travel a ball across two strings to land into a bowl with Ms. Carina, and learned about volcanoes and how they erupt through a science experiment led by Ms. Itzel. Our little TK Members also got to experience playing with oobleck for the first time in which they had a blast, and later that afternoon Ms. Carina captured a beautiful sunset picture that included a few of our Club Members.
To celebrate Thanksgiving on Wednesday, November 20th, staff planned, decorated, and prepared for a feast and fun activities for Members. Our celebration began with food that included, shredded chicken, Hawaiian rolls, corn, carrots, mashed potatoes with gravy, followed by a slice of delicious pumpkin or dutch apple pie. After enjoying their meals, Members participated in a turkey disguise competition. A few favorites were Coraline & Wybie, Junior H, a taco loving musician, a police officer, and a fisherman. Members also completed a turkey craft and topped off the day by sharing what they were most thankful for.
And lastly, to end the November fun, we celebrated Members whose birthday are in November with a juice and cupcakes. and said farewell to Fall sessions. Ms. Czarina & Mrs. Angela led photography, soccer, and art programs, and both staff handed completion awards to Members and thanked them for their effort and dedication.
