March has been having sunny days in Guadalupe, so the students in the after-school program at Mary Buren found a fun way to stay cool by making ice cream in a bag during a science activity.
The members learned how mixing ice and salt helps freeze the ingredients, turning cream and sugar into a delicious treat. Laughter and excitement filled the room as students shook their bags and watched the science happen right before their eyes. It was a refreshing and hands-on way to beat the heat while learning something new!
This ice cream experiment was just one example of the STEM activities that members are able to do at all of our Club sites as a part of the Boys & Girls Clubs curriculum.
