Robert Bruce School-Based Site Is Full STEAM Ahead this Fall

The 5th and 6th graders at Robert Bruce did a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) activity where they were split into groups and only given 200 wooden popsicle sticks and one bottle glue to build a bridge. It took teamwork and collaboration to build the bridge. Winning group held 10 TEXTBOOKS!?!

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Mid Central Coast operates 13 Club sites across two counties.  Youth can be members at “traditional” sites (at a primary clubhouse) or can be members at “school based” sites (sites based at the school they attend, typically as part of the ASES programming).  The Robert Bruce Club is one of 7 school-based sites in Santa Maria.
