Nadine Sullivan Honored as Board Member of the Year

Nadine Sullivan is being recognized as Board Member of the Year from BGCMCC. CEO Maria Fabula wrote a supportive letter for Sullivan, highlighting her contributions to the organization over the many years of her service.

“Throughout her tenure, Nadine Sullivan has consistently stepped into leadership roles during pivotal moments for the organization, providing continuity, structure and vision.

Over the past year, Nadine’s impact has been both strategic and operational. As Safety Committee Chair, she continued to advance a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement across the organization. Her leadership ensured strong compliance, staff training, and policy alignment, contributing to the Club’s receipt of the National Safety Superstars Award in 2023, with sustained excellence carried forward into 2024-2025.

As Governance Chair, Nadine led critical efforts to strengthen board effectiveness, advance governance policies and reinforce fiduciary oversight. Her work improved transparency, clarified roles and responsibilities, and supported a strong governance framework aligned with best practices across the Movement.

Nadine also remained actively engaged in Movement-level conversations, modeling what it means to be a thoughtful, informed and mission-driven board leader.

Nadine is worthy of recognition because she consistently combines strategic leadership, operational excellence and personal commitment to youth. She leads with integrity, asks the right questions, and ensures that decisions are grounded in both data and values. Her ability to guide the organization through periods of change—while keeping youth safety and outcomes at the forefront—sets her apart as an exemplary board leader.

Nadine’s commitment to youth extends well beyond the boardroom. She has spent years mentoring young people directly, particularly supporting young girls in building confidence and skills in math and science. Through this hands-on engagement, she serves as a powerful role model—demonstrating leadership, perseverance and service.

Her community involvement reflects a deep belief that youth success is shaped both inside and outside Club walls, and she consistently invests her time and expertise to help young people thrive.

Nadine exemplifies the highest standards of board service. She has shown unwavering dedication over nearly a decade, stepped forward during defining organizational moments and left a lasting impact on governance, safety and youth engagement. Her leadership has not only strengthened the Club, but has also modeled excellence within the broader Boys & Girls Clubs Movement.

She is, in every sense, a Board Member of the Year.”

Sullivan’s tenure on the Board ended at the end of 2025, but she still serves proudly on the BGCMCC Safety Committee.
