Boys & Girls Clubs of Mid Central Coast (BGCMCC) invited the local community together to highlight important statistics regarding youth in the San Luis Obispo County area at its advocacy event, ‘Standing With Youth,’ on Thursday, March 26.
This event was held at BGCMCC’s Tom Maas Clubhouse, one of the organization’s mainstay clubhouses on the Central Coast. Many dignitaries and honorable individuals attended the event, including District 5 Supervisor Heather Moreno, Paso Robles Joint Union School District Superintendent Jennifer Loftus, Councilmember Kris Beal, Diane Zannotti on behalf of Representative Jimmy Panetta (CA-19), Andrea Chmelik on behalf of Assemblymember Dawn Addis, District 30 and Amber Tetz on behalf of Representative Salud Carbajal (CA-24).
Maria Fabula, CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Mid Central Coast, and fellow panelists, Superintendent Loftus and Supervisor Moreno, discussed the landscape for young people across the county and the challenges they are facing. They highlighted how county officials are developing more resources for families in the area, as well as how schools are adapting to the modernization of education.
Boys & Girls Clubs of Mid Central Coast previously hosted a ‘Standing With Youth’ event at its flagship Railroad Clubhouse in Santa Maria earlier this year in January. The event highlighted ways that the community could support opportunities for young people to develop into stronger, healthier future leaders.
‘Standing With Youth’ is sponsored by the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Central Coast Foundation as its Diamond Sponsor, as well as BB&H Benefit Designs as an Individual Sponsor.
