Spring Sessions began March 3rd and while it definitely keeps our Members busy, they’ve been a great success! Ms. Czarina runs jewelry making with 6–9 year-olds on Mondays while Ms. Itzel runs Triple Play: Social Recreation with 10–12 year-olds. On Tuesdays, Ms. Czarina leads jewelry making with 10–12 year-olds while Ms. Itzel runs Triple Play: Social Recreation with 6–9 year-olds. And together, both staff run music sessions on Thursdays with 6–12 year-olds.
Beautiful bracelets, necklaces, and even keychains with handmade clay charms have been made with bright beads during jewelry sessions and Members have been extremely pleased with their outcomes. Social Recreation activities have included playing “emotional” charades, practiced breathing exercises, and shared the highs and lows about each other’s day.
During music sessions, staff choose a song for Members to listen to and follow the beat. Instruments that we practice playing are hand drums, small regular drums, a triangle, xylophone, and a small piano.
