Our spring break initiated on Monday, March 30th. We began our days with eating breakfast while watching a movie, then proceeded to do art with Mrs. Angela & science with Ms. Shyleen. After we ran 20-minute rotations where Members played loteria, board games, and completed a scavenger hunt. By 12:00pm Members ate their lunch from home and enjoyed the sun during outside free time right after. 2 Team building activities were led by Ms. Carina followed by snack time. To end our day, Ms. Zar led origami and played a movie for Members to watch during dismissal time. Shoutout to our amazingly talented Member, Betsaida, who decorated our windows with wonderful, spring art.
A few delicious breakfast platters were pancakes and sausage on a stick, cinnamon waffles with scrambled eggs, and pancakes topped with fresh strawberries & eggs. To drink, options were either orange juice or milk. Art activities included making a dot-to-dot easter egg, oil pastel easter bunny, eater basket, and a beautiful easter bunny house. Our Members showed incredible artistic skills with their art pieces.
Science time consisted of growing a rainbow using colors, water and paper towels, exploding monsters with sandwich bags, vinegar and baking soda, making neon flashlights using toilet paper rolls, and created a color fusion with milk and food dye. A few favorite team building activities were traveling a ball across everyone’s feet, balancing a cup on our foreheads, uncrumpling paper, traffic bridge light, and cup/balloon race. Lastly, for origami, Members made a lotus flower, chicken, easter chick in egg, and an easter bunny.
