Building Up: A Tasty STEM Challenge

In a fun and engaging STEM activity, our teens teamed up to take on the challenge of building the tallest tower using only marshmallows and pretzel sticks. Before construction began, each group developed a strategic plan to out-build their peers, focusing on stability, structure, and creativity.

As the towers began to take shape, students quickly realized that trial and error was key. They learned how different building techniques affected the stability of their structures and made adjustments along the way—turning each misstep into a valuable lesson in engineering and teamwork.

And of course, once the activity wrapped up, everyone enjoyed a well-earned snack of leftover marshmallows and pretzels!
