One of Our Own Earns Panda Cares Scholarship

Each year, the Panda Cares Scholars Program, part of the BGCA and Panda Cares Foundation national partnership, provides scholarship opportunities for junior and senior Club members who have demonstrated exceptional dedication and academic rigor in pursuing a great future.  The Panda Cares Foundation is the giving arm of the Panda Express restaurant chain. 

 

One of the scholarship opportunities was offered to juniors and seniors named their Club Organization’s Youth of the Year with an award of $5,000 to support their pursuit of a college degree, post-secondary education, or training. Ruth Sinico-Luna, our 2025 Youth of the Year applied and was awarded one of the winners. During our time at this year’s Keystone Conference in Chicago, Ruth, along with other awardees were surprised with a special reveal event filled with a personalized gift box revealing their scholarship and a joyful moment with fellow scholars, Panda associates, and BGCA staff.

 

Ruth will be leaving to start her college journey at UC Davis this September and is very grateful that the award money will be helping to pay for some of her college costs. We are so proud of her.
