Beginning this Spring 2023, teens in 7th-12th grade are invited to join in at a new project based learning program offered at local Boys & Girls sites. The Stollmeyer STEAM Challenge will be offered at our traditional Teen Centers both at the Flamson Club in Paso Robles and Railroad Club in Santa Maria. The Stollmeyer STEAM Challenge will kick off on Monday, March 13th at 3:30 pm at the Flamson Club and Wednesday, March 15th at 4:30pm at Railroad Club. Teens will have the opportunity to engage and explore various STEAM disciplines (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math) through interactive challenges. This limited 6 week series will be offered throughout the year with themes to match the season. Our Spring session will introduce students to the foundational concepts of analytical based exploration utilizing the scientific method and the engineering design process.
At the Jr. High level, we’ll be bringing the challenge to them through our Stollmeyer STEAM Club where 7th -8th graders will work together to solve “real world” type problems while learning about the various careers available through STEAM. In addition, participants in our Stollmeyer STEAM Challenge will be eligible to apply for a $1,000 college/trade school scholarship annually through our generous donation from the Stollmeyer Grant!
