Tom Maas celebrated El Dia de Los Muertos, a holiday celebrated on the 1st and 2nd of November. It is a colorful and lively occasion for remembering and celebrating those who have passed on from this world. The holiday is celebrated with color, food, decorations and music, in honor of our loved ones.
Members and staff alike at Tom Mass worked together to create a beautiful ofrenda, an altar decorated with flowers and trinkets. Members made their own pico-pico papel banner which was hung across our altar, and they drew skulls on paper cups as well! Staff also got creative and drew skulls on a variety of colorful balloons. And to complete our beautiful ofrenda, we filled our altar with bright orange marigolds, which is a symbol associated to the holiday.
The day was spent with so much positive energy, dancing, great music, and with our members placing photos and trinkets on our altar, in honor of their beloved ones.
